There are some signs to look for if you feel your child is being bullied, which include, getting upset or being emotional for little reason, or coming home with damaged or missing clothes, or without any money they should have.

They may also start struggling with school work or start having trouble with their homework for no obvious reason.

Take time to talk to your child
If you suspect that your child is being bullied, or if they have already told you about an incident of bullying, speak somewhere you won’t be disturbed and ask open questions such as, have they ever witnessed someone they know being bullied, or if it has ever happened to them, and try to get them to give you specific details.

Be calm, understanding and most of all supportive and really listen to what your child is telling you, without being judgemental or dismissing the experience.

Try to reassure them that bullying is not their fault, and give them your support, so that you can get help get through this together.
